ABE Dry Powder

FlameFighter ABE Dry Powder Fire Extinguishers are for extinguishing the following types of fires (Wood,paper & plastic, Flammable and combustible Liquids, and Energised Electrical Equipment). Ideal extinguishers for home, office and commercial use, available in a range of sizes and fire ratings.

Available from PSL are our own branded FlameFighter Fire ABE portable Dry Powder Extinguishers with a range of sizes from 0.3kg through to 9kg.

All models 1kg and over comply with AS/NZS 1841:5 Standards as required under New Zealand legislation, and feature red powder coated steel cylinders, easy to use handles, brass chrome plated valve assemblies, stainless steel gauge and safety pin seal.

Flamefighter III Extinguisher Range

The 0.3kg extinguisher, ideal for trail bike or chainsaw users in the forests, complies to EN3 Standard.

All extinguishers are supplied with a mounting bracket, and discharge hoses on models 1.5kg or greater.

The 0.3 & 1kg models have a standard nozzle outlet. Powder content of all units is Mono-Ammonium Phosphate ABE type (85% MAP content).

Flamefighter III 9kg Heavy Duty Vehicle Bracket

Please note: The Flamefighter III Range of Extinguishers are different in size to the Flamefighter II Range.

Due to this if you require a heavy duty vehicle bracket please make sure you purchase the correct one.

For example - A Flamefighter III 9kg extinguisher (SKU: 18416) requires a Flamefighter III 9kg heavy duty vehicle bracket. (SKU:18416-B)

If you have previousely purchased a Flamefighter II extinguisher (prior to October 2023) You will need to purchase the Flamefighter II heavy duty vehicle bracket.

FAQ's

Do your fire extinguishers meet NZ standards?

Yes, all our fire extinguishers meet New Zealand and Australian standards, apart from the small 03.kg fire extinguisher, which is not required to meet standards.

Do you install, service or offer compliance for fire extinguishers?

No, we only import extinguishers into the market; we cannot offer advice on where to position fire extinguishers or what size/type of extinguisher to have. We do, however, offer extensive informational material on the website. You will need to contact a compliance company that can provide this advice.

I ordered a 9L Water extinguisher, but it arrived empty.

To save on shipping costs, we send our 9L water extinguishers empty. When they arrive, fill the cylinder with regular tap water using the instructions included, which are also on the website.

What type of extinguishers do I need to buy?

We have a helpful chart that explains the different types of extinguishers and what kinds of fires they should be used for. You can find it here .

However, we strongly recommend you get advice from your local compliance company. Having the incorrect type/size of extinguisher may affect your insurance coverage.

Do fire extinguishers expire?

Yes, Fire extinguishers expire 5 years after their manufacture date, which is stamped into the cylinder.
