How To Read Fire Ratings
Under AS/NZS 1850, numbers represent extinguishing capacity and letters designate the fuel fire classification:
- Numbers (e.g. 10A, 60B): Higher numbers signify a larger test fire extinguished under standardized testing.
- Class E (Electrical): Indicates electrical non-conductivity safely tested up to 100,000V.
- Class F (Cooking): Tested against ignited vegetable oil/animal fat deep fryers.
Fluorine-Free Transition
New Zealand and global regulations mandate the phase-out of fluorinated firefighting foams (PFAS/AFFF):
- Legacy AFFF SKU 8490 is discontinued.
- The new Flamefighter III 9L Foam (SKU 18495) features 100% fluorine-free bio-degradable foam.
- Achieves a high 4A:20B:3F rating without toxic environmental persistent chemicals.
Discharge Times & Standards
All Flamefighter III cylinders exceed the minimum discharge duration defined by AS/NZS 1841:
- Hydrostatic Testing: 2.8 MPa proof pressure on Dry Powder cylinders; 25.0 MPa on CO2 cylinders.
- Extended Reach: High flow brass valves allow users to fight blazes from safe stand-off distances.
- Full traceability and manufacturing batch serial numbers stamped on every unit.
