Chose the interconnectable 10 Year Smoke and Heat alarms and a remote. Had the Fire Brigade to install them as neither of us can do ladders anymore. All went well, only one was tricky and lost its pairing but was easily reconnected. Remote very handy to check and hush. Still, quite an expense to upgrade.
Please modify your instructions to say that you need to interconnect alarms before install. Leave back plate on while setting up on bench.

Great product, best size alarms and with 10 year battery just install and forget.
Great that the alarms can be linked to be heard all over the house.
