The PSL micro smoke alarm has advanced electronics and a photoelectric smoke sensing chamber that provides early detection of fires. Onboard software can automatically adjust the sensitivity to adapt to the environment and avoid false alarms.

1. Do the Interconnectable alarms connect using Wifi?

While you may see interconnectable smoke alarms sold as Wi-Fi compatible, most interconnectable alarms do not use or require a Wi-Fi connection. They are connected using a Radio Frequency (RF) Transmitter.

2. The neighbour has the same alarms will they interfere with each other?

While all the alarms use the same frequency (433.92MHz), they are uniquely coded to each other via the master fire alarm when you first set them up. So don't worry—your neighbour won't be setting off your alarms!

3. How far apart can I place the alarms?

You can place the alarms up to 20 meters apart between in each alarm within a range of 100 meters. Large objects like thick walls will slightly effect this range.

4. Smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years.

Not exactly. While most alarms state 10 years on the box, this depends on several factors, like how many times the alarm goes off / alarms are tested, as well as ambient temperature. So, to be more precise, the alarm batteries will last up to 10 years. Regular testing is always advised, and a low battery warning will activate to let you know when replacement is required. PSL Fire & Safety offer a 5 year warranty on all 10 year smoke alarms.

5. You sell a remote control what does that do?

The remote is purely for testing the alarm rather than pressing the test button on the alarm, which is inaccessible to many people. The remote is NOT required to set up the interconnectable alarms.

Phenomenal Service and Product

I placed my online order for 3 of the Micro 10 Year Smoke Alarms at 11:47, they were delivered the following day before 10:00am - amazing and greatly appreciated.
I then opened the shipping box to find the 3 x alarms inside and even though dimensions are given on the web page, they were way smaller than expected, the instructions were easy to follow, and they were mounted and doing the mahi within 10 minutes.
I don't know why everyone doesn't invest in these - if you take into account the cost, time & effort of 10 years of purchasing 9V batteries, these are a the far more practical and functional option.
A huge thank you to the team at PSL Fire and Safety for the phenomenal turn around on my order - I will definitely be ordering more for the rest of my home (replace the older other versions) plus I will be putting them into the NFP Club that I'm the Chair of.

Peace of Mind and Easy to Install

I'm much happier for my son living in his sleepout attached to the garage that there is now a heat alarm in the garage interconnected with the smoke alarm in his room to warn him if things go south. Similarly our main house now has a heat alarm in the kitchen and smoke alarms in all the bedrooms all interconnected. Installation was easy and no false alarms so far. My only regret is that I could have also purchased a remote to make hush and test easier!

Great DIY smoke alarms

These alarms are reasonable price. You can have heat alarms in the system for Kitchen and Bathroom. They can be installed DIY. The only negative is the 50second time frame for interconnection means that for a FENZ recommended set up, there needs to be more than one person pressing buttons. Really like them.

Hi Bruce, if you lay the smoke alarms out on a table and conenct them there then one person can connect them, the key is remembering which alarm is the master.

Quick delivery, easy to link up and install. The alarm themselves is not as loud or 'urgent' as the cheapies we've had though and we have left a couple of them up in the bedrooms as an insurance policy incase the psl alarms aren't loud enough to wake us at night otherwise very happy
